The Vraňany battery energy storage system responds to the growing need for flexibility and sustainable energy solutions, as well as to current market developments. The project builds on existing infrastructure and uses a shared grid connection with the Vepřek photovoltaic power plant through a local distribution system. The storage system enables dynamic grid management, reduces connection costs, and supports flexibility trading. A set of grid-scale liquid-cooled BESS will be used for ancillary services and electricity trading with exceptionally efficiency. The installation will not only ensure grid stability and support renewable energy generation but also presents key investment asset. Thanks to custom sophisticated controlling software, top European manufacturing quality and a unique set of safety features, the system offers industry-leading performance and reliability with very favorable total cost of ownership.
Second Foundation, technology company in the energy sector active in 30, is a principal investor in this BESS project in eastern Finland. The facility is being equipped with a set of grid-scale liquid-cooled BESS provided by GAZ Energy as part of a strategic cooperation between the two companies. Within this framework, Second Foundation has contributed to the development of our BESS ’ controlling software which not only allows for particularly efficient energy trading but also offers maximum protection against cyber threats.

The oil and gas pipelines crisscrossing the Arabian Peninsula rely on Impressed Current Cathodic Protection, or ICCP, to prevent corrosion. Every couple of dozens of kilometers along the pipeline, a station the size of a van keeps the metal structure exposed to electrical current. Particularly if they integrate PV arrays, these facilities need batteries able to withstand both the extreme heat of the day and the bitter cold of the night. Even in this unforgiving environment, GAZ ENERGY SOL batteries provide maximum reliability for highly favorable TCO.
A single-track line starting from the Atlantic port city of Veracruz cuts through some of the most remote and challenging terrains in Mexico. Equipment such as electronic track circuits, wayside signals, or switch machines thus relies on solar panels supplemented by GAZ Energy SOL G batteries. Fitted across roughly two hundred locations along the railway, these rugged systems work flawlessly in a very wide range of temperatures, dust, and heavy vibration without requiring any serious maintenance effort.
